I'm with Rubyrocks in not thinking this was the best plot for Quinn to select, but just about every trilogy set in this time era seems to include a nasty male. Even so, it's good writing and dialogue.

Picks up where Just Like Heaven left off (with a slight overlap in timelines), but has quite a different tone. Whereas #1 was mostly light happy family stuff, in #2 both leads have reasons to suspect somebody's trying to kill them…

A bit of insta-love (on the Daniel’s part), a governess, hidden secret identity (on Anne’s part) are all what initially excited me about this book. Where it went down hill for me was that the central drama with Anne’s past, shall we say…

An easy read but not close to the best by this author.

Not one of her best, but a fun read. Too much of the dialogue felt contrived and the story too far-fetched, even for a Regency romance.

A fun, whimsical read. Some inane banter though, but easy enough to quickly read over. Not one of her best but still enjoyable.

I love all of Julia Quinn's books. She does a wonderful job of combining humor, romance, and an interesting plot. This is the second in the Smythe-Smith Quartet and focuses on Daniel Smythe-Smith, Earl of Winstead, and Anne Wynters,…

I loved this book! It was full of intriguing characters and had a great plot full of twists and surprises that keep you reading till the last page.

Once again, Julia Quinn works her magic on a Regency romance. Of course true love will prevail, but the pleasure is in how our couple gets there. Quinn's funny and that totally works for me!
