Add a CommentMy second reading: I missed so much the first time (a way back), especially the depth of Marie's character and the thoroughness of all people that populate this great book. You can't help but be drawn deep into the lives of all Kashpaw, Lamartine, and other family members, even Lulu who is easy to dislike until you get to know her at the end. You laugh, you cry, and you feel tender all at the same time.
Too deep for tears.
