I really liked this movie. The story is interesting and keeps your attention. It's a fun and at the same time, cruel fantasy.

This is a very rare type of movie, an intelligent, grown-up science-fiction film, so you can see that many commenters might not appreciate it. Ethan Hawke stars as an elite technician who is trying to hide his true identity and humble…

Great title for this movie which exploits genetically young men and roques to seek a better future for themselves!

A very stylish thriller staring very beautiful actors, but also containing a good moral to the story. Surprisingly relevant almost a quarter of a century after it was released. This is the first movie that I have ever seen to repurpose…

One of my favorite movies ever since I watched in the theaters in 1997. This is a subtle and brilliant film, filled with questions and ideas. I've watched it many times through the years and I've found many more insights since. In one…

a low-rent "Bladerunner" knock-off with cut-rate production values which unfortunately undermine an otherwise fine cast

A genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior one in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel. Watched it in 1997 & again now in 2019.. Broad stroke issues are still relevant today, mix in THE ISLAND &…

Gattaca is a propaganda film that sells a wicked agenda. That is why I don't like it, since it sells scientific racism so they can normalize Nazism once again. Qz.com states, “there will be artificial wombs in the future”. It will reduce…

This 1997 film deals with some very real ethical concerns about genetic screening and, obviously, the plot would be uninteresting without conflict so the issues are taken to a logical extreme. To put this in some context, the human genome…

To say that this Sci-Fi soap opera clunker could have been a whole lot better would truly be an understatement. This movie is an insult to anyone who is an intelligent thinker.

This is a 1997 American SF drama written and directed by Andrew Niccol. It is a story of a future society driven by eugenics where potential children are conceived through genetic manipulation to ensure they possess the best hereditary…

OK. So there is actually quite an interesting premise and story at work here in Gattaca - A man who is not satisfied with his place in society changes his social status by taking on the identity of a guy who was genetically engineered to…

Someone recently told us that the title comes from the four bases in the DNA sequence: Guanine, Thymine, Adenine and Cytosine. This film was shot on location at the Marin County Civic Center.

I enjoyed the storyline, some minor details to overcome though. Even in sci-fi. The human aspect to live one's dream, despite the odds made up for this.

Yawn-City! Here we go again with yet another crummy (yes, crummy) look at the future. I don't know about you, but I think these (supposedly) "brilliant", set-in-the-future brainstorms that the film-industry keeps coming up with just…

An interesting science fiction film which seeks to tell a lot about human nature.

LOVE this movie. Intelligent, well-paced, visually stunning, and moving. Not the typical special effects action blow'em up film that usually passes as sci fi, more like the slower philosophical sci fi films of the early 70s. A must see…

Not an action movie. But, a very thought provoking movie. Very applicable to our times and our way of thinking. Tremendous counter argument to the belief "it is in your genes" or not. Tremendous counter argument to natural ability vs.…
