This remake is not worth watching in my opinion despite the fact that Denzel Washington is in it. If you are a fan of the western movie genre you are much better off watching the 1960 original version although the library does not have…

And this Ladies & Gentlemen is why I hate remakes. I cannot tell you if this remake is better or worse than the original. Likewise I cannot explain exactly how much better or worse it is than the original as the 1960 version is not…

I liked it. You don't like it? that is your preference but the racial stuff isn't necessary.

A very poor modern remake of the 1960's M-7. Music did not fit, plot holes, over acting, some lines just D.U.M.B . Lots of shoot-em-up-...blow-em-up western action but hardly even close to believable. It is NOTHING like the classic…

7️⃣ A remake of John Sturges' Magnificent Seven, only without the magnificence. I'm surprised we don't have ManMochine and his sock puppets NeoNose and BabaPtooey here to foist their junior high opinions on you.

I’m not a western fan, but I love the original. I like this one, too. Denzel’s character’s darker back-story add some important gray to the moral black & white of the original. I do miss the straight-up soundtrack, but understand why…

Just awful. Remakes are so rarely any good. Not even Denzel Washington could make this watchable. Everything wrong here - the wrong cast, the wrong look. Everything overdone.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua as a remake of the 1960 film of the same name, this American action-packed western depicts the struggle of the seven men to save the town after it falls under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew…

If you're a person who likes really bad remakes, that should never have been actually produced; this is one of the movies you would watch.

Not generally a Western person, but watched as a recommendation and nice intro to the genre, being a modern remake of a classic. I tend to align very soundly with what I checked up on Rotten Tomatoes on this one: I think they gave this…

A cartoon version of the 1960s film with lots of adolescent violence and CGI. But without the great music

Given that the original was a remake of a Kurosawa film, I'm not sure this needed to be remade again. While the original is remembered fondly for its iconic score and great cast (McQueen, Yul Brynner, Bronson, James Coburn), it's actually…

I enjoyed this film! I'm not a big Western/Cowboy movie fan, but I really thought this was an entertaining movie! It was like the Avengers, but with Cowboys!

I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I was expecting it to be dull and it wasn't. I was expecting it to be gory and it wasn't (as gory as it could have been). All the best movies have good villains and this one is no…

A fun movie. Some of the 7 were more interesting than others and how Sam was able to convince each to join his cause could have been fleshed out. I found the most interesting characters was Ethan Hawke portrayal of a PTSD hero was…

Alas, like most remakes, this one lacked daring. There were few changes to the plotline or characters and the void was not filled with extra high drama or masterful dialogue. We are left with watching pretty updated battle scenes. Nice…

Good actors acting badly. Good story rewritten so it's really dumb. Badly directed. Stupid props. Such a disappointment considering the original film. Needless to say, I don't recommend it.

Just because its a remake doesn't mean you have to use predictable stereotypes. Next time use dinosaurs, space aliens, Mormons, fairies, Satanist, nudist, and monkey heroes.

I hate to admitted this but I fell asleep during this movie. I don't know why I like the movie I guess I try it again.

Loved the sound track and the narrative behind the music. I really enjoyed Pratt, Hawks loved the set design, costumes and the movie kept me entertained. Like to see the original.

I saw the Antoine Fuqua remake again over the Memorial Day weekend and I actually liked it better the second time around. For all those who compare it unfavorably with the Sturges and Kurosawa originals there is one way in which the remake…
