One of my childhood favorites, I have loved this story since before I could read! Based on the true story of the author’s mother’s childhood in Yuma, Arizona, Roxaboxen celebrates imaginative outdoor play through its whimsical tone and colorful illustrations. I can’t wait to read this story to my own son.

Although this is a very good book, I wouldn't recommend it for children under the age of 7. My 5 and a half year old granddaughter didn't understand the concepts of the book and she felt the illustrations were dull.
