4.5 stars for plot and action; 3 stars for veracity.

As to THIS book, see:

("The Feather Men" being the original title and publication version)

"The Feather Men" by the author is the actual INITIAL novel by this author, that later became the much dramatized movie "Killer Elite". The movie was highly dramatized from this book.

The book "Killer Elite" was then written to correspond with the released movie and is much different from this original.

Both the original Feather Men and, of course, the book and movie "Killer Elite" appear to be fiction (see the above Wiki link).

And, if so, was really quite unnecessary - it should have been simply published as fiction from the start.

In fact, the publicized Intro for the book should remove the comments as to "recounting the true story" (etcetera).

The author is otherwise a quite exceptional individual.

Killer Elite, based on The Feather Men by Ranulph Fiennes, opens September 23. Robert De Niro, Jason Statham and Clive Owen star in this action-thriller about SAS agents hunting a trio of assassins.
