Born in 1915 (in the slums of Hoboken, New Jersey) - At a very young age, Frank Sinatra (birth-name - Francis Albert Sinatra) developed a very keen interest (partially due to the encouragement of his mother, Natalina) in becoming a professional singer.
Though Sinatra never learned to read music, per se, his direct and forceful singing-style quickly turned him into one of the best-selling music artists of all-time, where, to date, his records have sold over 200 million copies, worldwide.
If you happen to like "big band" jazz music of yesteryear, then this 22-track CD (primarily recorded in the years from 1953-1966) will certainly give you a good sample of Sinatra's vocal diversity as a phenomenal pop sensation. (*Watch "Strangers In The Night" music-video*)
*Note* - An active performer for over 40 years (this includes his career in movies), Frank Sinatra died in 1998 (at the age of 82) from a heart attack.
