This is a beautifully shot, intriguing film, with Almodóvar's fascination of dance and theatre coming through clearly (as it does in "Todo sobre mi madre"). I found myself having very complicated feelings towards the main characters, which left me pondering long after the movie was finished. Certainly some enjoyably absurd humor throughout as well.
A quirky, somewhat perverted tale of friendship and hope for love.
Fantastic movie. I have recommended it many times to other friends. A fantastic script and acting. Absolutely loved it!
Just watch this wonderful film. Very moving (but strange). At the very least you'll be blown away by the teary nightclub scene with Caetano Veloso singing his classic song of love.
It's my favorite movie. As with most Almodovar films, there's a plot twist/mystery. The film is beautiful to look at, especially the dance and music.
Beautiful. Moving. An Almodovar masterpiece.
One of my all time favorite movie. Good music, excellent acting, philosophical.
I have to start by saying that I have a positive bias toward Almodovar's work. I think this movie was great. It has one of the craziest scenes I have ever seen in a movie and it will probably make you blush. This film may not be for everyone, but it is a good place to start if you are looking into the director’s work.
This 2002 film is as good an example as you'll find of breathtaking, brilliant, vintage Almodóvar: moving, poetic, atmospheric, risky, & completely politically incorrect (definitely not for the kiddies.) Bravo, Maestro, bravo!
