Anushka Ravishankar's books are wonderful, and this is perhaps her best (Paluk Biswas is definitely her best illustrator). It has bold illustrations that excite a toddler, and evocative, rhyming prose. It's also wonderful the way that the prose itself is dramatised (through fonts and the size of the text). It's also a delightful story. My toddler could recite this book by heart by the time he was 17 months, he loved it so much, and it's great for opening the eyes of children to other parts of the world (he now thinks that shorts are dhotis!). I also highly recommend 'I like Cats'.
