This is an epic adventure across time and continents; it is a fictionalized account of the arrival of Spanish conquistadors in South America. The heroine is captivating and the story is compelling. I found the historical facts to be rich and interesting while the fictional, personal struggles made the ancient trials relevant and relatable. There is so much beauty and so much sadness, so much heartbrake and so much love and devotion. I'd definitely recommend this book and I'd re-read it.
