Good book, very long. Don't quite get how she tells such detail about her upbringing and then wants to meet her cousin she thinks is dead toward the end and more detail about that than her son getting married, her no even wanting to know her brother that came to meet her. She is one messed up person. Being someone she isn't, not wanting to be a whore but yet wasn't she for all those years she wouldn't marry. Too into herself for me.

This was a dreadfully depressing book and I often wondered why I kept reading. I think I did because I listened to it in my car and I didn't have anything else to listen to. The book jacket said it would have a good ending. I am not yet done. It is still depressing. Maybe not worth the hours of horrible characters for the happy ending.
