Third magical installment in a very good ancient-era fantasy series. Karigan’s adventures are thrilling to imagine. Enjoying the character introduction of Lord Amberhill. Love the human-horse soul connection.

I love this series so much! Karigan keeps getting better and in this book you get the point of views of a lot more characters. Basically, the plot thickens, and I am excited to continue reading the series.

Book 3 of a continuing fantasy series. Reading the first two books (Green Rider, First Rider's Call) is highly recommended; lots of characters and events vaguely referred to but roughly explained. It's also a bit more wordy compared to the first book: If you like to read dialogues and what I call an author's rambling, this would be such a book. Some minor character development, and minor characters that developed more quickly than major ones.

Eager to leave the castle's confine, Karigan readily agrees to her new tasks, one of which is to mentor a new and irrepressible Rider. But a silent threat remains in the form of the remaining members of the Second Kingdom, a cult who dreams of the revival of their leader: Mornhavon the Black.
