I got halfway through, and realized that I could not recall what had happened previously in the book. It was that boring. Felt like it was mostly page after page of the author describing nothing. I generally don't leave things unfinished, but this book I had no problem returning half read.

Really 3.5. I liked it well enough to go on to the next 2 books in this series, but tho enjoyable I can't say it's memorable.

Great - This seemingly civil war inspired fantasy novel surprised me. I've long been a fan of classic fantasy fiction (i.e. medieval fantasy fiction). The characters feel real and the story is gripping. Totally enjoyable for any fantasy lover.
