This is a 1936 British biographical film by Alexander Korda, based on a story by Carl Zuckmayer.
It is about 17th-century Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn.
Charles Laughton plays as Rembrandt and his wife, Elsa Lanchester, has a role in the film as Hendrickje---Rembrandt's maid who also became his lover.
It would be more interesting if the director stepped into the love stories.
