I love this book a lot, when I started reading it I didn't really expect a whole lot from it but by about halfway through I was completely taken into the story. There are so many good things about this book but I think the best thing is just the way it is written. It makes you want to just keep reading and never put the book down. It is different from the movie in a few ways but it doesn't disrupt the story in any way and the same with the movie, there are differences but both versions of the story are very enjoyable.

I think I expected a little more from this novella considering how awesome the movie is, but it was still sharp writing from King.

Rita Hayworth & The Shawshank Redemption - the novella that forms the basis of my all time favorite movie - Frank Darabont's adaptation - The Shawshank Redemption.

Narrated by the incomparable Frank Muller - one of the premiere book readers. The only thing better than a Muller narrated King audiobook is one where Stephen King does the narration.

This is my GoTto story when I am in the blue dumps. This story is soul food.
