Stuck in the maze, had to be brave, up the wall, to take a fall. Trapped in the maze, W.C.K.D in power, working together to find the cure. Killing teens for the sake of "saving" people from the flare.

pretty good book.

Really great book, with just the right amount of mystery, suspense, adventure, action, and, unfortunately, heartache/death. While some may say it has a slow start, I think it works for this tale, and gives the reader time to learn characters names and such.
I'll admit that it is rather confusing in the beginning, however, I think the author, James Dashner, wants you to feel that way, so you relate to the main character, Thomas. There is new vocabulary and slang, different places, and rules that Thomas feels restricting that are all new to the reader, but you understand it after a bit.
I'd recommend it for +11, maybe younger/older depending on the reader and what they like/have been exposed to.

My friends said it was really good, but honesty it wasn't that good to me. Slow start, and nothing really happened. I'd give it a three out of five stars and that's being generous...

A little slow to start, but entertaining all the same.

One word: Wow

This book was one of, or the best book I have have ever read. Action, comedy, survival, terror, it's all in it. I would suggest this book for ages 12+, because it is good for older people like teenagers, but isn't suitable for younger kids. It is about a boy named Thomas who awakes in an elevator. When he reaches the top, he finds himself in a civilization of boys, all trapped in a maze. He realizes that getting in the maze is easy, but getting out is the tricky bit, and he needs to work with the boys to get out.

This is an excellent novel. Hunger Games meets Lord of the Flies.

Thomas woke up in a crowded elevator, remembering nothing but his name. When the elevator doors open, Thomas is exposed to a whole new world led by teenage boys called the Glade. As far as they all remember, the Glade is all they know. Since Thomas' appearance, the Gladers begin to discover things lurking beneath the surface. Products of nuclear war, the first ever Glader girl, and finally escaping the Maze.
This is a book you read for a quick read and a good adventure. Throughout the book, you keep getting drawn in by the alluring mystery while you ask yourself the same questions: when, why and how. I loved the use of Glader vocabulary sprinkled in every chapter, it really helped me immerse myself. The dystopian world itself was something I hadn't thought of before. Though this book has its fair share of flaws. Come of the characters were a bit flat, though they delve into it more into the series. Also, Thomas had a sense of "The Perfect Protagonist." Other than his dangerous curiosity, which is something all protagonists have, he doesn't actually have any flaws. Ignoring that, it's a good read, I strongly suggest it.

This was a book which was very descriptive and had lots of adventure in it. There was almost action in every part of the book and it was well written. The way the group of teenagers tried to solve the way to get out of the maze was incredible. Personally my favourite character is Newt because he seems like a nice guy and acts as a good leader as well. There are more challenges to overcome, but I don’t think that will be a problem for Thomas and his friends to overcome. The grievers were pretty scary based off of their descriptions in the book. It was very surprising how Thomas got one to die. Because of that, I think that is how he earned his respect among the others.

For the first time, he felt something for Chuck that made him so angry he wanted to kill somebody. The boy should be in school, in a home, playing with neighbourhood kids. He deserved to go home at night to a family who loved him, worried about him. A mom who made him take a shower every day and a dad who helped him with his homework.
Thomas hated the people who'd taken this poor, innocent kid from his family. He hated them with a passion he didn't even know a human could feel. He wanted them dead, tortured, even. He wanted Chuck to be happy.
But happiness had been ripped from their lives. *Love* had been ripped from their lives.

*Some spoilers* Crazy whacked out idea but I loved the wild ride of reading this story. So many twists and unexpected revelations in the book. The main character is trying to find answers to who the good guys are and what has happened to his world as we try to figure it all out with him. It is set in the future where mankind needs saving from a horrible disaster that has turned humans into monsters. Now scientists use children to figure out how to save the human race. Great book!
