Brooke supported her husband's music career from the moment they first met - both financially and emotionally. She worked two jobs, as a nutritionist at NYU Hospital and as a nutrition consultant for an Upper East Side girls' school, so that Julianne could spend more time in the studio after landing a record deal with Sony. After years of working late, playing in Manhattan night clubs, and pouring everything they had into his career he wasn't getting anywhere. Regardless, she always knew he had it in him to be the next John Meyer. Finally, with the help of his new manager he is asked to perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and everything changes. He immediately becomes an overnight success and is invited to A-list celebrity parties, to tour with Maroon 5, and is plastered across every gossip magazine. The gossip rags, unfortunately, seem really interested in Brooke too, and stalk her on her way to work and when she is out having coffee with friends. Brooke finds herself caught between two worlds and feels unable to catch up - she can't keep her job and follow Julianne on his world tour. But she still fights to find a balance. But when a gossip magazine catches Julianne in the act of cheating on her, Brooke isn't so sure they can make their lives together work any more.
This was a really fun read! The reading was also really well done and made the story flow even smother. As with most of Weisberger's novels this one tells the hidden story of celebrity stardom and makes it seem as though it's not as cracked up as it seems.
