Definately recommend...hard to watch at times knowing the horrid acts many of them have committed but I believe people can & do change. Brings up tons of emotions & questions the American justice systems true objective, rehabilitation or incarseration?
Watching a video like this is going to leave you with mixed emotions. It's about accepting that even people who have done the most heinous things are still human and that they deserve to develop tools to manage their anger, and their day to day existence in prison. Which not only benefits them, but the prison staff and the system overall with less violent episodes, etc, etc. I was very impressed by the DVD - they followed the prisoners through two classes, detailed the impact on their lives, the difficulties they had to maintain the practice using the tools they'd been given and the impacts felt by both prison staff and the prisoners themselves. The video was a complete whole, with interviews by the prisoners (who are extremely well-spoken and good communicators), their families, and the staff at their institution. Worth watching.
one of the best documentaries I've seen. full of humanity and hope. leaves you with an appreciation of the human spirit and life.
Fabulous. Inspiring. Fascinating. i recommend it.
