Small-town librarian Kathleen Paulson never wanted to be the crazy cat lady. But after Owen and Hercules followed her home, she realised her mind wasn't playing tricks on her - her cats have magical abilities. When the body of elderly do-gooder Agatha Shepherd is found near Kath's favourite local cafe, she knows Owen's talent for turning invisible and Hercules's ability to walk through walls will give the felines access to clues Kath couldn't get without arousing suspicion. It will take a bit of FURtive investigating to catch the cold-hearted killer.

I enjoyed this second book in a new series -- magical cats mystery. I like the town, I like the characters. It's whimsical, which appeals to me. Kathleen does seem to take on too much that is actually police work, but she somehow manages (often with the help of her magical feral cats) to get through everything, and survive. Looking forward to the next in the series.

This is a wonderful series. Fun to read with characters you really care about.

Even though I'm allergic to cats, I enjoyed reading about these magical cats who help save Kathleen's life, and help her identify the killer of elderly Agatha. I accidentally returned this book before finishing, and googled to find more in the series.
