Mr. & Mrs. Darcy mystery series, no. 6. Bebris brings the Darcys to Lyme to solve a good many mysteries surrounding the cast of characters we first met in Jane Austen's novel 'Persuasion'. Bebris' research into British naval history and culture is creditable and works well with her story-line. Her solutions re the fates of Mrs. Clay, Mr. William Elliot - and a fuller picture of the relationships between them and the saintly Mrs. Smith seemed very well handled to me. Captain Wentworth and Anne are as much fun to root for here as in Austen's novel, although we see them thru the eyes of the Darcys.

A pleasant read, though emotionally & stylistically thin.
