Oskar is convinced that his father, who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, has left a message for him hidden in the city. Feeling disconnected from his grieving mother and driven by an active mind that refuses to believe in things that can't be observed, Oskar begins searching New York City for the lock that fits a mysterious key he found in his father's closet. Absolutely touching, mind-blowing, and life-changing, if I do say so myself. It was also hilarious, with very real and unique characters.

Excellent movie with Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks and a new
young man, in his first movie acting experience. Acting was
great! Let's us in on some of the emotional aftermath of the tragedy of 9/11.

This movie is well worth watching. The acting by young Thomas Horn is incredible. The story is touching.

I give it a 4star rating, very good. The storyline/plot was good, the characters were sympathetic and believable, nice camera work, not too slow and a nice ending. Will definitely watch it again, if I can.

Quiet, thoughtful, painful, and kind. That's how I'd describe this movie. It was definitely intense but in a slow way that built up well through the film. Loved the slow reveal of everything and little touches to each character that made them seem more real. Grief handled in so many ways.

This is a movie about how a young boy (old before his time in some ways) experiences regret and trauma. I believe its intentions were also to be a feel-good movie -- in that it succeeds in a minor way. In exploring the complexity of people, I would give it an A+. But as far as the bombing being "meaningless" and the mother not getting why anyone would bomb a major american building that was not sellable. All in all - worthwhile use of time to those who enjoy drama and exploring unique characters.

This is like the movie "Julie and Julia," except set against the backdrop of 9/11 instead of cooking. In other words, I didn't like it.

Very heartwarming and endearing movie. Definitely worth the watch whether you've been touched personally by 9/11 yourself or not.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: This film involved the tragedy of 9/11 as a heavy continuous theme. Scenes are shown and may be incredibly frightening or intense for some with a sensitivity to it.
