Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley's last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed.

I have listened to all the books in this supernatural series and I am somewhat surprised at the definite change in tone in this title, the most recent. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. The earlier books were quite somber and dark in tone (I am reminded of Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly series, among others), but with the delightful Lorelei King now the new reader, this title is cute and funny and indistinguishable from Janet Evanovitch's Stephanie Plum series. Incidentally, the heroine names all her furniture and her body parts - guess which bits 'Will Robinson' and 'Danger' are?
