This book had great potential. However, it slowly started chugging downhill for me. I appreciate the characters and the insight into being a trans man. However, I am not a music nerd so 98% of the music references (and there were a lot!) went right over my head. I struggled with the "old-fashioned" nature of the book--I couldn't really tell what time period it was in except the references to Facebook. It felt very old fashioned and had so many clishes I couldn't count them all.

Anyway, not my favorite book. It had good points and good parts but overall it was just...eh.

This is a great book. I really enjoy the music reference and how fast pace it was. This is a really good LGBTQ+ book for anyone looking for one. Really recommend it to anyone.

A quick and down-to-earth story about a normal, everyday teenage boy struggling with all the things normal teenage boys struggle with. He also happens to be a trans male. One of the best things about this book with the simplicity of the plot and the authenticity of the writing style. I could really feel for the characters, and the situations and outcomes were believable.

Realistic and thoughtful story. Very much enjoyed it, as I could relate to Gabe in many ways.

Well worth the read. A light story, fast paced, easily read. Loveable characters, drawn well.
