Prototype 2 is a great look into the best selling, multi platform video game prototype. While looking at the graphic novel section of the library, I came across this book. I had not played the game but I had heard about it before, so I decided to pick it up. I have to say, this graphic novel is what convinced me to okay the games. This book explains to the reader a bit what happened before prototype two, and a few of the missing parts of the previous game. This making this graphic novel a technical prequel to the popular game. In the game, a plague is spreading through Manhattan. The plague is called "Black light". Enforcers called the blackwatch are in charge of keeping it from spreading. This novel is divided into three parts, all of which take place between games. The first, Alex's story. It shows how the first games' main character, Alex, came to lose faith in humanity. The second part is about three survivors in Manhattan attempting to escape. The third and final part is the introduction to Prototype 2's protagonist, Sgt. James Heller. He's a tough Marine who won't take any shenanigans. He is locked in a cell of a facility where innocents are being tested on..but I won't spoil any more! I wouldn't suggest reading this comic unless you are a fan of the game, as the lore is a little confusing at times. However, if you're a fan of the game I really think you should pick up the book!
