This is the author's debut novel about a young woman, haunted by loss, who rediscovers passion and possibility when she is drawn into the tangled lives of her neighbors. This is a story about the irrepressibility of life and desire, no matter its sorrows or obstacles.

This book does drag on.
I also keep thinking while reading that this is written by an older European woman who has very formal english as a second language. Or at least the character is conveyed that way.

Rather overdone writing style made me lose interest rather quickly. Keep it simple and get to the point already.
