Aaron carries on with ongoing plotlines in this volume, featuring the faculty and students of the Jean Grey School contending primarily with a circus that happens to include the Frankenstein Monster, still seeking revenge against the bloodline of his creator. The characterization is worlds better than what you'd get out of Bendis, and even though Wolverine is one half of the title and appears throughout, Aaron wisely lets other characters shine as he goes along.

An improvement on the other volumes, largely because Bradshaw's art takes up three out of four issues in this collection. Jason Aaron's writing is fairly good, even if Wolverine must be the main character. The first three issues are a chaotic ride with multiple storylines in and beyond the school. Bradshaw's art, while not distinctive, looks brilliant in contrast to the art of Bachalo, who does the art in the final issue. Bachalo's style is painful, to say the least.

I wouldn't really call this an "x-men" book, yet it is bloody fun.

Hank McCoy: "Your alien attackers must have used some fort of matter transmution ray. It weakened the very atomic structure of your usually unbreakable, unbendable adamantium bones, making them, well, breakable." Speaking to Wolverine of his failed attempt to rob a casino.
