Just as good as the Red Notebook (Le carnet rouge). This author has experimented with how the power of an object left by the President of the Republic has brought about change and influence on different people, while at the same time retracing the mystery of the hat and finding it again! And all in under 200 pages. Tight, solid, amusing, with a bit of whimsy. The English translation is very good. I am reading Laurain's works backwords in publishing order and am still impressed with the earlier works.

I really enjoy this author. Very good!! And his next book, "The Red Notebook", is even better. I highly recommend them both!
