A great peek into the daily running of a small New York farm from October to October. Lovely illustrations accompany the text, which is full of neat stories. It's a bit romantic, but you can tell the author is in love with her farm, and that's what made this an endearing read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this peek into a woman's transformation into farmer and shepherd.

She shares her thoughts on the days that mark time for her along this journey.

Poetical without becoming simply a poem. A wonderful year-long journey.

I will be gifting a copy of this to my sister who hears the call of farmlife and longs for a more earth driven life.

More of a journal of important thoughts and events than an actual story but it is very enjoyable! After reading this book, I now want a goat and an apple press!
