Science Fiction is not a genre I usually read, but Zeroboxer will make you into a fan. The concept of Boxing in zero gravity intrigued me and it was worth it. Carr Luka is an amazing protagonist with how is character is in the beginning and developed while the story goes on. During the first fight scene, I played We Will Rock You while reading it and the setting went from 0 to 100 real quick. I love how his training went down and how the ZGFA had this huge tournament between the Terrans and the Martians. This book was an outstanding story and if you love Sci-fi or and sports involving fighting, this book will be a good read for the weekend.

Great choice if you'd like a mix of sci-fi and sports. The characters are well drawn, there's a hint of romance, and plenty of suspense. It's really realistic, considering the sci-fi setting, so there's swearing and violence and general machismo shenanigans. I particularly loved the alien characters.

The concept of this book is decent - an boxing thriller in SPAAAAACE! - but the execution is terrible. The setting is sloppily constructed, the romance is lifeless, and by page 100 or so, I just didn't care.

Outstanding first novel - I couldn't put it down! The author was excellent at describing the head games of sport competition and the conundrums of living with a secret that could ruin your life. Don't read the summaries - it's better to live out the action with the characters!
