Which Harry Potter fan wouldn't have relished having JKR give their graduation address. And how much more clever can you get then having one of the most successful women of her time speak about the power of failure. However since one never sets out to fail, and hopefully failure is the last thing on the minds of a new graduate on graduation day, I'm not sure her address to this graduating Ivy League class was the right "plot" to offer up.

A very quick read, filled with meaningful, wise, and inspiring tips about living your life to the fullest! This is certainly different than her usual Harry Potter series, focusing on improving your lifestyle and learning from your past to become a better You today. Strongly recommend!

You don't need magic, these words have power. This book, “Very Good Lives: the Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination” is derived from a commencement speech given by J. K. Rowling at Harvard University and it is centered on two aspects of Ms. Rowling’s journey: the benefits of failure and the importance of imagination.

J.K. Rowling did a speech at Harvard University and it was so good they turned it into a book. First, it is important to embrace failure because we learn from are mistakes. Next it is important to have an imagination to always not be so stressed. In the end I loved this book and hope she makes more speeches she turns into books.

Writing is definitely J K. Rowling's gift. Indeed, a most wonderful gift. And this small, but precious, and wonderfully written book is not just a wonderful gift for any graduating student but inspirational to read for all of us already out there in the big, wide, ever-challenging world. Bless. her.

This is not a new book by the author, it is her commencement speech she gave at Harvard University. Also, her speech can be seen on YouTube.
