A beautifully written book with a lovely story! Having fallen in love with Alaska after a trip there, I could picture the scenery and the way of life as described in this book. Well worth my time!

Caveat: I lived in the Homer area for three years. Naturally a bit critical of a few minor deviations from the truth. I somewhat compartmentalized the 'story' and the focus on the Kachemak Bay location.
Which was slightly embellished, yet indicated factual knowledge and authentic research.
The story tripped many of my own recollections, and opened introspection of my past. My review may be more personal than objective, No matter, it is a very worthy read, well researched and written. It will depend on your perspective. An in depth look into family, and the many achieved, or lost outcomes of decisions that may alter the course of understanding and healing.

Even though much of the story line was predictable, I enjoyed the ride of getting from here to there. The evolution of the two main characters is hopeful and uplifting. Recommend!

I thought this was a very good book, however, I guess I was expecting something more "literary" with all the hype the book received. It's more of a well written love story rather than a true literary read. But it made me want to go to Alaska!

Great book! Loved this story of Kache and Nadia helping each other find reasons to live again after each had put their lives on hold due to traumatic circumstances. Endearing characters and a beautiful Alaskan setting. Recommend.
