I think this is the only personal finance book anyone ever needs. Great gift idea for high school age kids and/or those heading off to college. I love that rule #9 is "Do what you can to support the social safety net".

Simple, easy to follow advice. A good read.

I thought this book was so well-done (although a little simplistic on a couple of topics), I bought a copy for each of my grown daughters.

This is a solid no nonsense primer for getting your financial life in order.

Highly recommend it, particularly if you haven't read a lot of financial books before.

A basic primer for financial planning, useful for all ages. Olen and Pollack manage to make this subject relatively painless for everday people. My major complaint (since I live north of the 49th parallel) is that a lot of the material applies to the United States of America. So the stuff on 401k plans and private health insurance is not too relevant to me. Despite that, Canadians can apply the ideas that you can never start too early to save for retirement and making sure you have the correct type of insurance. (For myself I did find the Wealthy Barber and The Wealthy Barber Returns useful for Canadian financial planning purposes).
