I have read and abandoned most of Patterson's work. His Alex Cross character has become a maudlin, simpering fool. The first of the Private series was readable but now, in Private Vegas, the prose is so full of product placement that it has lost its charm and seems entirely foolish.

Patterson has worked hard to build a brand, a very successful brand and now is just cashing in. His day has passed.

Not worth the time to read. There is so much better.

There's a reason James Patterson is one of the most widely read authors out there: stories like this are complex, have lots of different lines sometimes weaving together sometimes not, and things don't always end up pretty. New to Patterson? You could do a lot worse than this.

More Private LA than Private Vegas. I was well into it before I realized I had read it before it left that little of an impression. But like every book I begin to read, I completed it... again. If you're a die hard Patterson fan it's worth reading.

One of the worse J.P books ever read the ending was just terrible , Las Vegas was maybe mentioned 4 times, not what I was expecting at all , big disappointment..

I'm at page 229/361 and Jack hasn't gone to Vegas yet...

This is the book I have read for James Patterson and I fell in like with his works especially the women's murder club and private series

I never thought I'd see the I'd read a James Patterson novel I didn't like. This was the first one I was thoroughly disappointed with. There were far too many plotlines, too many implausible storylines & the end simply seemed to collapse, as though the authors just wanted it to be over. Unfortunately, so did I.

This is the poorest book I have ever read with James Patterson's name on the cover. Stopped at 55 pages---a waste of my time!!!!!
