Although I did not agree with everything that subjects in this documentary said...for example I do NOT believe that Marijuana is a completely benign drug, without some real harms, I thought it was very well done, presented some compelling interviews, and data, and made a strong case that medically, marijuana could be extremely beneficial for certain individuals.
.
That said, the really important contribution that this documentary has to make, is the way it so clearly connects the dots between pharmaceutical profits and legislation that restricts our freedoms, and puts lots of people in jail, for, "crimes" that are not causing any harm -- except perhaps to big-pharma's profit and control of our lives.
.
This documentary is further evidence that, "The War on Drugs" has been a colossal failure, and a ruse on the American people to economically benefit certain entities, and support specific power structures. (The book, The New Jim Crow can explain this in great detail, while giving you a whole other aspect that was not covered in this documentary.)
.
Most shocking for me however, was the uncanny similarity between the evidence presented in this DVD with a docu-series called, "The Truth About Cancer." as well as the facts I have been learning about vaccination laws and how they are established and enforced (and the biased "evidence" that supports them.) In all three situations (marijuana, cancer treatment, mandatory vaccines) You have these similarities:
.
1) Big Pharma attempting to manipulate the published science to support their profits.
.
2) Big Pharma spending egregious amounts of money to lobby our legislatures to codify laws that further their business interests.
.
3) Many examples where citizens presenting no threat to society, have been jailed for long periods, lost their assets, or had their children seized by the state, when their personal behavior did not conform to what Pharma wants. Big Pharma is undermining the very foundation of democracy -- and yet most Americans mistakenly believe immigration is a bigger concern....that just goes to show, how much we are being manipulated.
.
What I really like about Culture High though, is that many people, who would never consider questioning the status quo that gets reinforced by the mainstream media about cancer treatment and vaccines, and thus would never consider honestly exploring these issues in depth to find out what the truth really is, THEY WILL Watch a documentary about Cannabis -- and it can begin to lay a foundation for people to be a bit more skeptical about much of what we all tend to accept as, "true" without reallly thinking critically about the bigger picture of which it is a part.

One of the best marijuana documentaries so far. It provides all aspects of the culture that it has become, from political to high a smuggler feels when smuggling into a country to just how its been perceived over the years. It talks about the medical effects and compares it to other elicit substances as well as common substances like alcohol and prescription drugs. It's well rounded and definitely worth watching.

This is a great documentary that goes beyond the subject of merely legalising marijuana. It delves into society as a whole and the nature of capitalism and the many hypocrisies that the free market indulges in. I highly recommend this documentary to any thinking person.

Really interesting comprehensive documentary that explored related topics such as law, social policies, history, pharmaceuticals, etc. It did not sway my existing opinion of marijuana as I still believe it has a place to serve as a valid medicinal treatment.
