Alec and Lily are indeed wonderful characters, with excellent chemistry. The only failure of the book is in rushing their relationship -- I didn't want two weeks, I wanted *months* of them circling each other and their witty repartee.

Scottish romances aren't usually my absolute favorite, but leave it to Sarah MacLean to write one I really enjoyed. It helped that this was set in London and just happened to have a Scottish hero -- this book was also a great example of the guardian-falling-in-love-with-his-ward trope, which has to be handled carefully in order to make it not seem creepy. Alec and Lily were extremely well-matched, and fans of MacLean's previous books will love this, her latest. The nods to modern celebrity culture (including a character who is clearly supposed to be, basically, the Regency version of Kanye West) make it an extra entertaining read.
