No one has set foot on Earth in centuries — until now.Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships far above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents — considered expendable by society — are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonize the planet. It could be their second chance at life...or it could be a suicide mission.CLARKE was arrested for treason, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. WELLS, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves — but will she ever forgive him? Reckless BELLAMY fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only pair of siblings in the universe. And GLASS managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth.Confronted with a savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the hundred must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.

This book was amazing, I hardly could put it down! The people are amazing and everything about it was so real, it made me smile, laugh, frown and I felt like i was there standing next to everyone. I love this book, that's the best way to put it.

This story actually differs quite a bit from the TV show (from what I can remember). The characters are a lot more complex and some of the alliances/factions that are seen in the TV show don't appear to be followed in the original book.

Which book is this? The 1st or 2nd?

Having watched the series based on this book, I thoroughly enjoyed the differences between the two. The additional characters and unique perspective from the spaceship colony was an interesting addition to the story. I can't wait to read the next two books in this series!

I loved this book, but... I loved the show better. I felt that the book took forever to get to the next event. I'm not saying that it's bad, I'm just saying that the show was more exciting. When I read I mentally visualize the story. But the show gave me more detail about the characters and there character.
I like how there is 4 different points, and how the book is set in the future. It gives you a look on real-life possibilities. Nuclear war leading to humanity finding somewhere else to live, possibly in space or on another planet. I gave this book 5 stars because of all its good qualities.
