Prince Perkins has learned one important thing in his twenty years: Show no love and have no mercy for people who don't have your back, or for those known specifically as backstabbers. This time around, he's decided to leave behind his street soldier status, taking on a new reputation as a street hustler. By any means necessary, Prince vows to keep his pockets fat with cash and to stay away from the ones who continuously bring controversy his way. That includes his poverty-stricken mother, who refuses to depart from a man who has bruised and battered her for years. Eventually, Prince has to step in to a volatile situation, but the footsteps that he leaves may prove to be too deep.Silhouettes are newcomers on the literary scene. Jamal Prince Perkins is a young man who has been through a lot of troubling times in his very short 20-yr life. He has killed his father due to abuse, had his baby's mother shot to death while in the car with him and his 2 yr old son, killed his best friend when he found out he was one of the ones who killed his girlfriend. His mother, Shante, goes missing and she is found to have been killed by her very abusive boyfriend. The boyfriend, Raylo, makes it appear as if the mother left on her own, and has a friend demand ransom, when in fact, she is in the trunk of her deceased father's car in the garage, cut into pieces. The sad thing is that Prince, as he was known, was running legitimate businesses and trying to keep his life clean, but something always happened to change his plans. I loved this book.

Romans 12:19

Do not take revenge, my friend, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It's mine to avenge, I will repay."
