It's just another night at the morgue for a father and son team of coroners, until an unidentified, highly unusual corpse comes in. Discovered buried in the basement of the home of a brutally murdered family, the young Jane Doe, eerily well preserved and with no visible signs of trauma, is shrouded in mystery. As they work into the night to piece together the cause of her death, the two men begin to uncover the disturbing secrets of her life.

The "horror" movie is a disaster. Absolutely, one of the worst films I've seen. Bad writing. Poor acting, and an unoriginal plot.

If your looking for a scary movie, avoid this bust. Even Ed Wood's movies weren't this awful.

I really like horror films of ALL kinds, but my favorites tend to be the ones where I think "Well, I haven't seen that before". This is one of those for me. Very creepy, chilling, gory, and I was always completely engaged. Very good acting from the 2 leads! If you are drawn to the horror genre, I totally recommend this film.

Good supernatural horror. The script/dialogue, acting, effects, filming, sound - everything was well done to keep my interest.

This movie had a slow but interesting build-up, enough to make me think it was going to be good. About halfway through it went downhill for me. Really disappointed because I felt that this film had potential.

The creeps just keep on coming'. Did you ever try to get out of a situation, and realized it just kept getting worse? Sometimes you just got to walk away.
This father and son stay. It just gets deeper and deeper. Great creepy film. Well done. A different twist on 'from the grave'.

Picked the best place to control the atmosphere of a horror movie--basement of a morgue. Father and son team of coroner and medical assistant did a great job of pulling answers from their forensics of the dead body until the spooky stuff just messes them up big time. Watched this in the daytime but would have been much scarier at night. Gave me a few jumps.

Fun, frightening, and innovative! Well done and keeps the creeps coming.

Directed by André Øvredal in 2016, this American supernatural horror movie depicts the unbelievable phenomena while father-and-son coroners examine the body of an unidentified woman (played by Olwen Kelly).
It appears like a well-crafted horror film until Emma (a girlfriend of the son) gets killed.
Well, this is a supernatural horror-movie, eh?
I know that, but how could it be possible under the natural circumstances anyboy would expect?
After that, the story gets ridiculously silly and childish while the director makes it foolishly horrible for the sake of horror.
I think I'm too scientific and naturalistic a guy to appreciate such a foolish horror movie.
I laughed my head off to death at the end of the movie.

Autopsy of Jane Doe is like a 1970s horror movie, in both its good and bad aspects. It starts slowly, but takes time to build its Everyman characters (who are also father and son morticians). There are a couple of jump scares, but not anything like the number that are in the average modern horror film. And it attracted three first class actors: Brian Cox and Emile Hirsh, and relative unknown Ophelia Lovibond, who should get a special award for the most physically challenging role of 2016. The best thing about this film is the set; every scratch, scrape, and tacky yet ominous decorating choice is captured. Unfortunately, the script begins to unravel in the second half. It depends too much on smart characters making stupid choices. I rate Autopsy as average, but you should see for yourself.

To me this film was of high quality, with smart writing and enough suspense and tension to make this film worthy of high praise as a smart mystery/thriller/horror film!
This does take place in an autopsy room, with graphic dissection and female nudity. High praise for the four main character actors in the film. Brian Cox, playing the father, Emile Hirsch, playing the understudy son, Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary's Kitty and Guardians of the Galazy's Carina), playing the girfriend, and especially to Olwen Katherine Kelly, playing the unflinching body of Jane Doe. I was not able to tell when, there was a dummy or her on the table or not! Fine direction and editing.
I too liked the previous 2010 film by this director, Troll Hunter.
