A cheesy apocalyptic disaster movie. The majority of actors were good, whoever it was the script that fell short. Expect a lot of weird one liners from the characters.

This movie was horriable everything about this movie awful.

Good popcorn movie with a serious message. Just how much time have we to mitigate the substantial effects of climate change? I'm a movie lover who is not in denial about that complex problem. For other movie lovers who are, consider taking 3 minutes to watch the special feature "The Search for Answers".

Action movies and/or conspiracy stories are usually not my cup of tea. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent watching this sci-fi action flick. Non-stop pace. Interesting brother interactions. Gerard Butler is always worth watching. Realistic looking space stuff.
Andy Garcia was great as President. I'll have to look for more of Daniel Wu. Richard Schiff was a welcome site; Ed Harris was enjoyable. Many other fine performances - particularly Alexandra Maria Lara. Glad the writers kept her role from going sideways into a different story.

An unfortunate vehicle for what are otherwise (mostly) not bad actors.

Some of the effects are impressive, but the premise is bonkers. I'm not sure who decided to bankroll this B-movie, but it's still a B-movie.

I thought I was getting a documentary. This has got to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I would rate this if possible with a zero minus five. It's pathetic

Stupid movie, if the thing was going to blow up anyway why risk your life to turn it off? Stupid

Plot holes, cheesy scenarios, death and destruction, and Gerard Butler scowling and growling his way through the film abound in this disaster-fest from director Dean Devlin, who's had a hand in this sort of film on several occasions in the past. Abandon all logic, ye who enter here.

I could have done without the brothers backstory. The focus should have been on the action.

Opening narrative:
Everyone was warned but no one listened. A rise in temperature... ocean patterns changed and ice caps melted. They called it extreme weather. They didn't know what "extreme" was. In the year of 2019... hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and droughts unleashed a wave of destruction upon our planet. We didn't just lose towns or beach fronts. We lost entire cities. The East River swallowed Lower Manhattan. A heatwave killed 2 million people in Madrid in just one day. But in that moment facing our own extinction it became clear that no single nation could solve this problem alone. The world came together as one. And we fought back. Scientists from 17 countries, led by the U.S. and China worked tirelessly not as representatives of their nations but of humanity.
A geostorm. Simultaneous catastrophic weather events triggered all over the globe. Once they pass the minimum threshold, the storms will start
causing new storms. Like a chain reaction until they merge together.

Think of it like I'm going on a vacation for a week or two.
-To a place 250 miles straight up? And negative 450 degrees? Some holiday.

I've given you an opportunity, Mr. President. You should take it.
-An opportunity? ...Let him go...It's genocide, Leonard!
You say genocide, I say preemptive strike.
-You've lost your mind!
Tomorrow, the sun will rise, all our enemies will be gone. Wiped away as if
by the hand of God!
-Why would you do this?
Because no one else would. I'm turning the clock back to 1945... when America was a shining city on a hill... not just a bank disguised as a country.
-By playing God?
What the hell is Dutch Boy if not playing God? Ask Max, he knows. Science is all about playing God. Sometimes, God doesn't play so nice.
