Kindness is small but it can build!

Kindness, whether big or small, has the ability to make a strong impact. Often times, it is found by putting someone else first.

How exciting to have my name in a book! *even if it is misspelled :)

I love the message that we can each be kind, even when it's hard. Kindness can be shown in small ways and if each of us do something small, those small things can grow together into something big.

"Being kind" books sometimes come up a little short because they can seem a little stiff and focus on the positive outcome of kindness. This book, however, focuses on a main character who DOESN'T do a kind thing and feels bad. She realizes her mistake and tries to fix it. She reflects on her actions, how sometimes being kind is small things, and how sometimes, being kind is difficult. It takes time and multiple attempts. It felt like a very human way of looking at kindness.

There are many different types of friendship and this story gives children ideas about making friends young to old!

Light and sweet, explores and encourages what it means to be kind. I especially appreciate noting that using someone's name is an act of kindness, not usually talked about in other books on kindness. A great reminder for all of us, to spill out kindness through the little things.

A beautiful, sweet, and simple book that shows the effects our kindnesses can have on others.
