This book starts out illustrating three different characters, Freya, Harun, and Nathaniel, and how all three of them feel as if they have “lost their way”- Freya is a famous singer who recently lost her voice; Nathaniel has just arrived in New York with no preparations made, thinking of his father who doesn’t answer his calls; and Harun is planning an escape after his boyfriend told him to get out of his life. In one inconceivable moment, the three of them meet under a bridge and bond throughout a truly personal day for all of them, dealing with their own personal troubles and helping the others work through theirs. Each character’s backstory is revealed gradually and thoroughly, letting readers speculate and developing mystery, and their backstories are all compelling and multi-dimensional. This book, its ending in particular, makes you feel empowered and understood. Everything pieces together throughout the course of the plot in a way that makes you feel heard and appreciated no matter what emotions you start the book feeling. It focuses on healing and being understood, which makes it a good go-to if you’re ever having a bad day and need a calming, yet sincere, story. I also love how the author’s writing style occasionally ventures into the poetic yet only at prominent moments where poetic language can highlight what’s going on without hindering it or slowing it down. All in all, I give this book 4/5 stars. Elena of the Yorba Linda Teen Book Bloggers

Sweet and surprisingly moving, this slim novel connects three individuals who are all facing crucial turning points in their lives. The afternoon they spend together changes their lives, and connects them in ways they could never have anticipated. You'll get through this book on a Saturday afternoon.

This quick read, or listen for me, is about 3 lost souls with very different backgrounds who have lost their way in their lives in different ways. By accident they are thrown together and throughout the day they slowly help each other, which in essences helps them find their way. There are flashbacks thrown in that shows how they got to this fateful day. I loved the characters, they were well developed and had very interesting stories and very different heartache. I think this shows how even strangers can help someone heal. Very beautifully written. I really enjoyed the audiobook with the three different narrators.

Enjoyed the book all right but the book felt choppy. I was here, did this, accident, met new people, do things together, enjoy the time, conflict, somewhat resolution, book done. The book fell short in the depth department I guess. There was male/male issues, suicide issues, family issues, and fame issues that are written and some language. Next on my Foreman list is "I Was Here".

This book was very well written and helped me to connect with the characters and what each character was going through. There were a few times when I was a little confused on who was talking and what was happening, but other than that, it was a very good book.

3 very different people, from different walks of life meet and so much takes place in a short span of time. A fantastic read!

This book is not as strong for me as others I love by this author, but it still tells a compelling story - albeit one packed into less than a day that left me wanting more. I really started to care for these characters and to appreciate their struggles - I think they will be relatable to a lot of people.

While not my favorite book of Gayle Forman's, I think a lot of different issues are dealt with in this book that teens can relate to. Each of the teens are dealing with separate issues, but are drawn together and end up becoming each other's rock.

When three teenagers meet by chance in a park after an accident happens, they must work together to figure out what they all truly want in life.

This was my first ever Gayle Forman book and it did not disappoint.

I am a Gayle Forman fan and have autographed copies of "If I Stay" and "Where She Went", so I had high expectations of this book. Passages like this one: "They only just met. They have nearly nothing in common, but the invisible chord is now a tight triangle, connecting each of their hearts, each of their destinies", for example, are the Gayle Forman I was anticipating.

Other parts of the whole seem forced like boxes were being checked and the plot is so rushed. It is ambitious to fully cover the twelve hours the three young people spend with each other while fully exploring their back stories and showing resolution. It just didn't work for me in these 250+ pages.
