Honestly, I like the author's previous book, "The Flatshare" better. That book has more originality and humour, comparing to this one. Yes, it is very interesting to see an older person exploring a metropolitan city and yes, it can be intriguing for a 20-something to 'settle down' in the suburbs with archaic technology, however, the plot seems very predictable somewhat.
This is a wonderfully charming book that made me laugh and cry. Can't recommend enough for such a likable cast of characters.
A funny and romantic quick read. If you like Jenny Colgan you HAVE to try Beth O'Leary!
Loved this book! I was very close to my grandmother so I got quite a kick out of this novel! The perspective of a differing generation is a valuable asset in life. Highly recommend!
A perfect pandemic stay home read. The hours of reading flew by.
Modern Mrs Darcy
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, would recommend!!
I enjoyed this book. It is so much fun to read the stories of Leena and Eileen when they trade homes and what they learn about themselves. If you need a book for a Winter evening, this is the one!
Such a sweet read! I loved Leena and Eileen so much. And Jackson was the cutest ever.
An absolute pleasure to read! Leena is overworked and stressed. She's worked right through a terrible loss in her family without taking time off, so her boss finally forces her to take a holiday. Her grandmother Eileen, in the country, has just gone through a divorce and needs a change too, so the two decide to switch places. Eileen takes on London and Leena takes over her grandmother's responsibilities and engagements in the village. It's funny and sweet and romantic and I loved both of these women and rooted for them the whole time. I also loved O'Leary's debut, The Flatshare. 🙂
