Aside from all the insulting criticism, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this pleasant, fun, entertaining, romantic comedy, with the beautiful Emily Blunt & other talented actors.

First, those who say this was based on the novel of the same name clearly didn't pay attention to the movie. Literally tells us on screen it was written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, based on his play Outside Mullingar!!!!
Second, I didn't love the movie. Didn't hate it either. The review I most related to was the comment about not being able to care about any of these characters. What a bunch of sniveling, unhappy people. The only thing I could think of is Shanley was doing a take on Swan Lake for the Irish farmer, but I don't like Swan Lake, so it would have likely fell flat with me.

I don't believe this movie is an adaptation of Rosamund
Pilcher's book of the same title. I searched on the library site to find her book. When I started to read it , it was a totally different story. So I further reseached the movie online and discovered: "Wild Mountain Thyme is a 2020 Irish romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, based on his play Outside Mullingar."( wikipedia). I'll still venture to read Rosamund Pilcher's novel. Great comments but however goofy the movie was , I enjoyed it. Yes great scenery!

Rosamund Pilcher is a wonderful writer, and I don’t think this boring screen play did her book justice. The scenery is beautiful, but the unauthentic accents were irritating. I would not recommend this movie.

This is such a sweet, tender movie, fantastic romantic comedy with an incredible cast. Yes, yes there's all of the chatter about bad Irish accents but honestly, just watch it and enjoy yourself. You won't regret it. Beautifully acted, beautiful scenery with flawed characters nevertheless refreshing to watch, because they are more relatable in real life. It was also a delight to watch Jamie Dornan who is most recognizable for playing the kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the movie 50 Shades of Grey portraying Anthony Reilley, who is a very different, if not opposite, character from Christian Grey. This movie is charming and old fashioned. I quite enjoyed it. I was surprised my husband who is not into romantic comedies enjoyed watching this with me. Well worth the time and money invested in this troubling yet charming film of misunderstandings, miscommunications, and friendship that never seems to blossom into love. I recommend this movie.

Decent enough if you don't have anything else on your watch list available. Scenery is nice.
