** spoiler alert ** I hardly ever give a book five stars but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The story line was original and long lasting. If I could vote a book to become a classic, this one would definitely make the list. The imagery is vast and sweeping. The characters are uniquely original. There are no cliches in any part of the novel. When a boy meets girl it is always the same thing. They fall in love and live happily ever after. There is no dumb love triangle or parents holding them back or even some weird evil entity trying to stop them. In "Ever", boy meets girl but the boy is a God and the girl is a mortal. The interesting twist is that he doesn't do what other books do and give up his powers to live a mortal life with her. No, they instead take the hard road. She must become a heroine to become a God and live with him. I love this story. This is a story about sacrifice, self-doubt, and unconditional love. So refreshing.
