I've watched this twice and I just don't tire of it. A crisis causes a conductor to change lanes in his life and go back to the village where he was bullied under his new name. While there, not only is he confronted by his past, he decides to conduct the choir, and he gets to know the richly textured lives of those who live there. I like how he stays grounded despite the challenges he faces, how each member is valued and of course, the main song Gabriella's song is quite the scene. I even had my children watch it, who are older, it has it's heavy parts like the violence in the home.
