The reviewers including Nigella Lawson heap praise on this book. I love cookbooks that get me to think and learn for example, a recipe for Teff - an Ethiopian, ancient grain with banana and maple. Aloo methi is a dish made using fenugreek which is supposed to be good for reducing cholesterol and blood sugar. The four essential dressings are herb, mustard, yogurt and sesame soy. On page 229 is a lovely display of fresh cheeses with flowers and herbs. The author covers grains, teas and drinks but also has a chapter entitled, "Thrifty." Something as simple as carrot soup with flatbread ribbons could be elevated to a new level with flatbread and creme fraiche. Definitely worth checking this book out!
